Wedding Madness

It's crazy how planning a small wedding can be. I can't imagine if this was a huge shin dig. Thank goodness it's not, I would probably have to slit my wrists!
We have so much already done and I am so proud of myself in how well I'm not stressing yet. My wedding dress arrived last week and it's beautiful, all 12 lbs of it!! I can't post a pic of it since Nathan doesn't want to see it until "the day!" He is quite adamant about it. But we did find his suit on Sunday and I might add it looks dapper!! The red tie just sets it off and he looks so handsome. Here is what it will be.
I might add that he picked this out and is so on point with what looks good. I told him that he could pick out his attire and that I knew he wouldn't need my help.

I searched for my perfect shoes and I found them.

They are sooooooo sexy! I absolutely love them and they are quite comfortable too. I did good!

We already have our ceremony reserved and the restaurant for the dinner booked, wedding cake picked out, flowers picked out, dresses for Lola and Jojo agreed upon, his wedding ring is being bought in 2 weeks, OOT bag ideas in the making and Save the Dates and invitations picked out. Whew!! I'm so organized!

Engagement photos are this coming Tuesday on the 1st and I can't wait to see what Ashlee comes up with and my first dress fitting is the following day on the 2nd. I'm so nervous about it for some reason. I still have about 10 lbs that I wanna lose, so hopefully I can accomplish that.

Our wedding planning has been so exciting and I couldnt be happier! Nathan has been so involved and so hands on and if it wasn't for him, I'm sure I would stress out!! I love you babes, thank you for all you have done to help in our momentous day!

The Waiting Game

So, I have been bad about blogging lately, as this has been a very busy and hectic beginning of the year for us. I just had to take Allorah to Chicago on the 10th of January for her appointment to see her amazing rheumatologist, Dr. Lauren Pachman and her just as wonderful staff. It was a very busy appointment day and these times take so much out of Allorah. Her day started out by being at Childrens Memorial Hospital by 9:15 for her appointment with Dr. P and staff. For the most part, her appointment went ok. Dr. P wants her to have surgery by the plastic surgeon to remove a 5x7 cm calcinosis on her left back hip area. She is wanting to add Cyclosporine to her regimen of medications since the calcinosis is forming again and this is the top treatment for that and I am not happy about that one bit. Its a very strong med and I just wish we didnt have to go this route. She had her regular visit with PT and OT and she has lost a bit of range of motion to her hamstrings. Its so hard to get her to do her stretches and she is so passive about it. I cant get her to take this serious and its frustrating at times. She just wants to be a "normal" kid. So we are sent to the lab for her bloodwork and by this time Allorah is not feeling well. She has a bad headache and her body aches. She get 20 vials of blood drawn and I am trying to hurry over to catch the shuttle to take us to the Clark St. building her her x-rays and DEXA scan, so I rush her out of the lab, we are about 10 steps out of the lab and she stops me and tells me that she doesnt feel well, just then her knees buckle and she just about passes out on me! I scoop her up and carry her back to the lab and sit her down and ask for some juice. It was too much blood drawn and she is weak. So we wait until she downs the juice and she feels better and there we take off for the rest of her tests. An x-ray of her right wrists to try and rule out arthritis and x-rays of her right hip to see exactly how big the calcinosis is there, then its off for a DEXA scan to see the bone density in her little body. By this time, she feels like total crap and we still have to go back to the Ronald McDonald house and clean out room, pick up our luggage, catch our cab and head back to the airport to catch our flight!! Needless to say, it was a mad dash and she passed out on the plane ride home!! So now is the waiting game of waiting to hear how her results are. I hate this part, its brutal. I will keep you posted!

Our wedding date, what it means

So many people have asked me why we chose September 17th, 2011 as our wedding date. So I went to Nathans blog and commandeered his post from awhile back...

"We chose the date September 17, 2011 and I couldn’t be more excited! First off 17 is my favorite number, I am marrying the most amazing woman and I will then officially be the luckiest man in the world.

Now I am kind of a weird numbers guy but found this little tidbit hidden in our date, follow along…
If we reduce the date to numbers 09-17-11 and we add 9+1+7 for the month and day we get 17. Then adding 1+7 we get 8! Turned on it side it gives the sign for eternity.
Now we take 2011 and add 2+0+1+1 and we get 4 and divide that by 2 (that variable is her and I and we will always be as referenced above, eternal) and we are 2!
Eternally the two the of us, 8 and 2!
So you see, it is meant to be, her and me on 9-17-11…"

So, how many people can say that their significant other can blow them away by just a few simple words? I know I can and he does it so effortlessly! So there you go, thats whats so special about 9/17/11.

2011, New Beginnings

Its a brand new year and a brand new time for me and my family. The old blog has been brought down and a new one arrives. As we move forward into the future, all I can say is "WOW"! So much has changed in my life in this short time that I am taken back at times at how truly blessed I am. The girls are doing so well in school and Allorah is still fighting her battle with Juvenile Dermatomyositis. Jo has a job now and is driving. Diesel is getting so big and is just a mess! As for me, this princess has found her Prince Charming! We have something that only fairlytales are made of and I will be marrying my best friend on September 17th. The kids are so excited and I can hardly contain myself! So, as you see, happiness and a wealth of love is at my fingertips.
